In 1976, a building in New England was being carefully restored for an upcoming US 200th anniversary celebration, but in the process, caught fire and burned to the ground. I remember Joe McPartland telling of a very succinct fire report where the seasoned investigator stated his professional conclusion: “The cause of the fire could not be determined. The structure was not wired.”
