Is anything holding it up there? It looks like it is just resting against a ventpipe. Wow! If that doesn't look like an accident waiting to happen!

You got it right, just resting on the vent pipe. There are two actually resting against the vent and a third resting against the handle of the other two. I got in touch with the roofer and got them to remove them within an hour or so.
