I just had a call from a client that will be installing one of these on a bidet
he says it has a very short cord and needs a receptacle I assume gfci protected and I assume the bidet can not block the receptacle I assume it can be on the same circuit as the counter GFCI
has anyone wired for one of these yet ??
http://amdmllc.com/?page_id=330He purchased it at costco
Doug:
I have seen a few <4 of a similar item, don't know the brand name. They were installed with a direct 20 amp circuit w/GFI protection, based on the mfg instructions.
Installs were by the same EC; a single 20 amp recept, on a GF breaker.
The link to your unit does not appear to have any 'spec'; it mentions hot water, warm air, heated seat, etc. But no data.
Depending on the actual load, tie-in to the bath circuit may be an issue. I am not familiar with the CEC regs, so the ball is in your court.
I been trying to find info on it also, I told the customer that it may require its own circuit.
I called the Customer back, The wife had actually read the instructions the unit has a hot water heater and draws 700 W so it will need its own GFCI circuit,
http://mybootybath.com/Click it.
Then click the video.
Somehow I don't see this insta-hot load ever running at the same time as a hair dryer.
Anyhow, it looks like it could be a warm product. Every unit is going to need an electrician -- fishing Romex time and again.
Done, now I see what it is. They may be returning it to Costco the expense of a separate circuit was too much

<$500 for a 'toilet seat' & quibble over the professional installation cost?? Hope they don't just go & buy an orange extension cord!! LOL
A water fountain for Rover.
A water fountain for Rover.
I never thought of that,:)
Since I can't imagine this unit ever running at the same time as any other receptacle load in such a space...
( Think on it... )
I'd simply install a GFCI receptacle off of a lightly loaded circuit.
The 700 Watts are a joke considering the amount of time they'll be drawn.
I think these gadgets are going to make a big splash.
BTW, the warm seat is a huge seller.
It sells itself...
And flushes itself, too.
It also soft-closes.
These are the greatest gadgets since the disposal.
