Talked to a GC today. Ihave not seen him in years. We were talking he asked me what I charge for sq ft on new construction. I have not done that kind of pricing before. Normally look at prints and give price from there. Any help on what to include on this, like service, cans,uc lighting. This is in CT. Thanks Sam

Go through your paperwork on old houses and get the average sq. ft price.

Ussually when I do it. Its the 'wired to code' price, no extras. Recess, wells, uc lgts ect. all at additional prices.

I havent done it in awhile, last time I did was when copper was at its max price I think I was using around $2.5 sq. ft... lower copper price was 2.2 .. I could be off been awhile

That seems kind of low. At almost $90.00 for 12-2RX and $130.00 14-3 RX. Material alone would run about $2000.00 not including a service.

Yup, might be low I just did a quick figure.
2200sq.ft
$3000 material
<48 man hrs.
$52 an hour.

residential production sucks... better upsell em.

48 man hours for 2200 square - hate to compete against that - what do you figure on the trim?

What I can up with is about $7.40 a sq ft.
Figure 2 guys
total 80 manhours
plus $3000 material.
@$65.oo per man

We have 2 guys finish up to 3000sq ft in 16-20 man hrs.

Now throw in a few cieling fans and a couple complex chandeliers and its longer.
