Anyone know a reliable supplier for those ads you can hang on a doorknob?

Hello dave, i just got the nebs catalog this week and they have a few good looking door hangers with a buisness card on the bottom that the customer can tear off and save.The web site is www.nebs.com . I am thinking about using these also, but still am undecided yet.

I was thinking NEBs also. Be carefull about giving them your phone number. A sales person will keep calling you.

I had a local printer make mine up. It has my name and logo on it and the following note:
We were working in your neighborhood today and would like to apologize to you for having to drive around our trucks all day. I would like to offer you this coupon as a token of my appreciation.

Then place a coupon at the bottom of the door hanger.

My opinion. I get tons of junk mail, bums on corners begging for money, pop up ads, unsoliceted email spam, occasional windsheild fliers, newspaper guys at drive through windows etc. This is just another peice of junk that goes in the trash.

Good luck on your doorknob ads, but maybe you should take some vacuum cleaners along to sell (sorry couldn't help it)I think you better off networking through people you know or meeting other tradesman's , as for the door knobs just maybe you find someone that needs something done at the time(I'll stress at the time) because there going to end up in the trash. I think your name & logo on your truck, and even on your wife's veh. being parked at the grocery store's etc. is going to get your name seen.

I've never done doorknob ads or fliers. I know what happens to them when I get them - they go straight in the trash without any consideration for what they offer.

With that said, I have 1 employee that has been trying to persuade me to do them because of the success he says they had at a company he used to work for. Maybe they do work, but I doubt I'll ever find out because I think it's tacky. However I have been doing direct mail to targeted households with some success and I consider this just a step above fliers.

First of all, you can't count on door hangers as a primary source of advertising. Secondly and secondary it will help generate top of mind awareness to the prospective customer. My technicians place these on doors of 4 homes that surround the customer we are working. We have had a few calls, but not alot to write home about. But everytime we go back to that same house we remind all the neighbors that we were there. Each time we do this our odds get better that when the neighbor needs work, he/she will call us.

AS for cost to perform, it is alomost free advertising.

I'm not really looking at this for sales, just a boost in recognition in town. Sales would be a gift, and with the low cost it wouldn't take much of a sale to pay for it (similar to business cards).
