In NEC 2002, does it require to have an outdoor outlet install at the front and back at the grade level in a 3-family dwelling?? AND what about the back of the basement??

You must have a receptacle within 6'6" of grade level at the fron and back of each dweliing. 210.52

I don't believe that section covers multi family units in the 2002 Code.

"For a one-family dwelling and each unit of a two-family dwelling that is at grade level,"

I would havea hard time applying this language to a three family building.

BUT

The 2005 ROP Proposal 2-235 (REJECTED)attempted to apply the existing requirement to multi family units. It looks as if the CMP caved to the TCC, in comment 2-136(Accept in Principle) . If this is adopted , it appears that at least one receptacle will be required for each unit that has individual exterior entrance / egress . The receptacle will need to be not higher than 6'6".

Although

210.63 may require a receptacle if there is heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. At grade, or on a roof for that matter.

The 05 Code might cover this issue !!
