Can you put 4 - 1/0 in a 2" LB ?

Look in the inside of the LB for max wire size and number

Max wire size is 4/0 as in all 2" LB's however max fill notes not more than 3 conductors, it seams for conductors over #4 three is the limit, fittings are not the same fill as conduit. This would prevent using 2" LB for 3PH Service LB.

you could always use a larger lb with reducing ends.

314.28 Pull and Junction Boxes and Conduit bodies.(A)(2) would require more than a standard LB. It usually requires a mogul LB.

You got it, I posted for one of my guys, He said there is nothing wrong with using a regular LB, he din't get a mogul because the supply house din't stock them, and if they had to order, it would cost more. I stopped the job and refuse to let them use the regular LB. Their answer is, we see everyone else use them, and is the inspector going to ask you to tear down the job. I don't want to take that chance.

The larger LB with a reducer will not meet the requirements of 314.28(A)(1), it is still to short in length. Only the Mogul LB will do it.

Max 4/0, as with all 2" LBs?
I think you'd be better off to follow gserve's instruction, and look in the inside of the LB.
From the OZ/Gedney catalog:
LB-200A = Max 3 #4/0 AWG, (aluminum for rigid)
LB-67 = Max 3 #1/0 AWG, (a Form 7 LB)

I regularly see the use of 2" Appleton LB's (aluminum) Max 2/0 with 3/0 wire on 200 Amp circuits...S

Max 4/0, as with all 2" LBs? is the comment from one of my guys, that asked me to post this, He had a carlon LB 2" J type that has 4/0 stamped inside. He now knows that all LB's are not equal. style and type for different applications. They forget bending space and fill requirements when it comes to LB's. Yes you will see this violation many times.

I guess I didn't quite understand.
Another way to accomplish this (LB) in certain circumstances is to use a section of wireway with the required distance between conduit entry points. They're sure a lot less expensive, and more easily available than the mogul conduit bodies...S

We are doing a 200A 3 phase system next week, and I am using a box on the inside of the building, basement area, if I can find one with the proper gauge for service conductors. Still using mogul outside, you can guess what a 2-1/2" mogul LB costs. By the way, one of the guys called today and said he wanted to thank me for giving him the chance to be an electrician.
