I realize that for jurisdiction that have adopted NFPA 72 (fire alarm code), I can get great information regarding locations of detectors, etc.
For jurisdictions that have adopted the ICC codes, such as IFC (international fire code), does the IFC have device location guidelines similar to NFPA 72? I do not have a copy of the IFC yet.
I thought the IFC was in competition with NFPA 1, so I assume that the IFC will not have information similar to NFPA 72.
Any suggestions.

Hi Ron,

I don't have a clue but, the spacing of smokes and such are always based on the manufacturer's specs. I can't imagine rules of certain devices would change dramaticly.

Just my opinion,

Ron, you might try posting this at the ICC electrical or fire forum. You will probably need to register to post. http://www.iccsafe.org/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi
