During a recent insurance suvey, we were ask if we did any periodic testing of our ground grid. Typically we only test new installations. Is there some code covering ground grid testing. Note: We do perform yearly static bonding and grounding testing, but we stop when we hit bldg steel or ground plates. As always any help is greatly appreciated.

One publication INDEX is: http://standards.ieee.org/reading/ieee/std_public/description/im/81-1983_desc.html

Also there has been online some condensed information by various vendors of AEMC test equipment.

There are 3-lead/fall-of-potential/4-lead/{crippled 2-lead} tests.

I’d ask for published references from / hash it over with the agency that mandates or reviews test results.
