Can any one tell me the code article for using insulated staples. I had come across it at one time, now I can't find it.

The NEC doesn't specify, however, local codes have been known to require them.

Wisconsin is one place that doesn't sell regular staples, and the plastic cable straps, which I consider to be far superior, are just now catching on here in WV. For the longest time, I was special ordering them.

We use plastic "cable clips" here that are very similar to this one, except ours have a nail on only one side.

I like the look of that double-nail approach though; it's too easy for cables to pull out of our clips.
