Thanks Joe!
BTW, anyone know when the 2002 Ugly's come out?
You just saved me a lot of trips from my desk to the trucks to dig out an ugly book! Thanks.
Good Reference Joe!
What's that knot called that is used in lamps and light fixtures? (I mean Luminares)
It's 'knot' here!
Bill, If ya can't tie a not, tie a lot!
(I think it's just an overhand not...)
Has the 2002 Ugly Book come out yet? I mistakenly loaned out my '99 thinking I'd buy a 2002, but alas they aren't available yet... Is there an echo in here?

Virgil,
I think it's got a name that is used in books and such. Do you know what I mean?
I'm thinking 'Underwriter's knot' maybe?
I seem to recall a name mentioned in shop class too many moons ago when we were taught the finer art of lamp-making.
Bill
Yes!
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&q=underwriters+knot Perhaps We should notify them of their omission of the one "Electrical Knot" out there?
Bill
hey, I resemble that topic!
In the 13th edition of the American Electricians' Handbook on page 9.200 Figure 9.234 is what I have always called the underwriters knot.
Joe,
Boy, it's a good thing they do that one slow!
Bill
Well, I be dipped...
