320.10 Uses Permitted.

Where not subject to "physical damage", Type AC cable shall be permitted as follows:

(1) In both exposed and concealed work .....

The key is "physical damage" ---- and at the floor level, there can be a possibility of damage caused by a floor polisher or other equipment. I would use a piece of rigid metal conduit as a sleeve just to be on the safe side.
