Out building grounding - 07/22/16 08:26 PM
I have a friend that has an out building with a 100 amp panel on the outside of the structure. The thing has been there forever and it's not raintight/weatherproof. He wants to change out the panel. This sub-panel is about 100' from the from the main panel. The ground looks to be #6 solid copper that attaches to the bushing on a 1 1/4" pipe that feeds it. The ground then goes to a 3/4" pipe that I assume goes down to a ground rod.
Do you think it is okay to replace the entire thing just the way it is now?
Thanks
