Hi All
I am a UK based electrician but I do have an issue I would like to raise over the Australian Regs. My daughter has contracted to buy a new home in Victoria and the developer sent her a electrical layout for approval. This shows only one power point in a bedroom and 2 power points in the kitchen etc.. In UK we have selection and erection manuals that list minimum standards and also sockets outlets must be installed so that they will not be subjected to undue mechanical stress or damage in normal service eg – one power point will in normal and reasonable use require that extension leads trail across the home. They will supply further points as an extra cost – can this be right? Are there minimum requirements for new residential properties electrical provision?
Thanks

Good Evening, and welcome to ECN from one of the "Jersey Guys"

I'll leave your post here and watch if you get any responses.

Here in the US we have mandatory regulationswithin the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Have you tried a Google search for Victoria, Au Electrical Codes??
