I know NEC will allow EMT in concrete with proper corrosion protection, I have always used pvc from day one on the job.
What do you use to install it in the concrete?

I only ask because the SUPER-Foreman on the job I am working at, scoffed at me when I questioned his decision to run emt from parking garage though pan deck up to next level, which they poured the concrete today.

However as I have said before I am in WA state, and we have a state code which supersedes NEC WAC 296-46B-358 which strictly forbids this type of installation not to mention there was no type of corrosion protection talked about in 300.6 just straight EMT(3. I tried to explain that I didn't think this was a good idea...unfortunately as I said he believes he is "Super E"

RNC or RMC is about all I see in concrete unless they go with smurf. Metal seems to fail right at the top of the pour where it comes out. There are 2 schools of thought. Some say it is a chemical thing where the metal reacts with the concrete where they come together in air. The other thought is simpler. They assume that is just where water pools.

Out in my area, local, specific, rules prohibit the practice.

Once saw a guy red tagged over it.

He was using the NEC -- and never slowed down to read the local regs.

I believe the stuff they call "Mambo" cable is also listed for concrete. It looks metal greenfield with wire in it and it is coated with plastic. It is listed for underground too and I also believe pool wiring.
