Hey guys I think I may ran into sticky issue due one of my customer set up they want me to clean up the panel box I know I have it inspected before it was loaded with twinners but what the customer want me to do is get rid of twinners and go with single pole full size but the catch is that if I move a bit of circuits over to subpanel that part of the code that will required AFCI breaker ?

Keep in your mind with this part it is not adding any new circuits just clean up the panel so how do the codes stand on that when you transfer it over to the subpanel.

{ I may go back in Wisconsin for very short time so I just want to be prepared for it }

Merci,
Marc

Marc:
I can tell you the NJ scenario, but Wi may be different.

What you are proposing to do in NJ would fall under our 'Rehab' section of the UCC (Uniform Construction Code, as follows:

You are reworking existing circuits.
'Existing' is under 'Rehab'
'Rehab' is based on the 2005 NEC here, until the State updates the 'Rehab' section of the UCC.
We (NJ) did not require AFCI under the adopted version of the 2005 NEC.

Best suggestion is talk to the local (Wi) AHJ before you get into it.

Take care & travel safe.
