Does this require a bonding grid in the pad under equipment that is remote (on high ground) but serving a pump in the pond?

OK; I read it 3 times....re-read it again....and IF you wanted an 'opinion' now, I would say ..."Yes".

You pose an interesting inquiry.

Further thought will be expended over the weekend

I would say yes also. Not much info in the handbook or the analysis but yes, the grid would be on high ground. To be continued i'm sure.

Greg- your da man! You seem to have the best answers on this subject- What do you think?

I think they worded this section so it reads backward. In the rest of 680 you need the grid close to or in the water and 3' away you don't.

If people discover this section we will be hearing more about it. This could be a little fountain or a koi pond at a home.

A topic for discussion at the next NJEIA meeting perhaps; something to think further on.
