Does the code require residential dining rooms to be served by a 20 Amp Circut?

210.52 (B) (1) seems to indicate that. This code could be worded better IMO. I have always wired dining rooms on a 20-amp branch circuit. I prefer the circuit to be separate from any of the small appliance kitchen countertop circuits though. And I always do a dedicated line for any refridgerator.

Depending on the size of the dining room and kitchen. I bring my 2 small appliance HRs into the dining room and work them over into the kitchen.

Section 252(B)((1) states you need two circuits for the kitchen counter outlets. These circuits can feed dining room , breakfast rooms or simular areas, including refrigeration, ( I always put the refrigerator on it's own circuit) Remember the NEC states the minimum requirements. Note to 250.(B)(3) these circuits shall feed only one kitchen.
