Has anyone on this forum had any experience with the floor heating system manufacturered by "Heatizon"? Since seeing it on a job installed in a bathroom, I am concerned about the requirement for GFCI protection. The voltage is about 36v. and the primary voltage is 240v. Look at 224.44(G).

I have heard some are adding built-in GFI protection, not sure about this one.... Haven't seen it yet.

And yep, if in a situation described by the code you refferance, requires protection, one way or the other.

I left this one alone because we don't do a lot of heated floor in S. Florida.

Reading 424.44(G) I don't see any relief from the GFCI rule because it is 36v.

I would certainly defer to an AHJ who had actually seen one tho.

I don’t know anything about the Heatizon system but the digital thermostats included with all the floor systems I have worked with have integral GFCI protection.
