The 60 amp. knife switch was in a downtown store until ten years ago and was still in use.
The blue ceramic encloses a doorbell transformer from knob & tube wiring. It is labeled Silvertone. I think it was made by Nutone.
The brass lamp shell has an Edison plug. The outer ring of the plug rotates allowing it to be screwed in without twisting the cord.

I remember seeing one of these knife switches many years ago as part of an electrical service for an old house. On the back porch of the house was the main knife switch (in a steel box, fortunately), then an a-base light meter, and finally a small fuse box with 5 or six circuits.
