Attached are a couple old code books I have in my collection, the 1903 was reprinted by a electrical supply company in Chicago, the 1929 wiring standards is authenticated as one of Thomas A. Edison collection from his library, it was given to him 2 years before he passed away.

Thanks

Looks like some light reading. What was the extent of the code book there? 10 pages? I wish it was still that simple. [Linked Image]

All ten pages dealt with the subject of which way the receptacle goes, up or down?. There wasn't even a ground terminal yet, but the controversy already started.

I also have a copy of the The Strandard wiring book dated 1926.
I would post a picture if my copy of a 1904 Modern Wiring Diagrams and Descriptions for Electrical Workers by Horstmann and Toulsey, the 1903 Experimental Electricity by Trevert, and Hawkins Electrical Dictionary by N. Hawkins, ME c1910 and 1915 reprinted 1918. It also has a picture (etching)of Thomas A Edison across from the title page and "This Work is Respectfully Inscribed by Andrew Carnegie Friends of Learning."
I would be happy to post a picture of each but my HTML has not been activated.

I love reading old reference books such as these. They oftentimes give a very good historical background and answers to why certain things are done the way they are.

I'll give this a shot.
The "Hawkins Electrical Dictionary" c1910, c1915 reprinted 1918.
