Question, If a sub-panel is being feed from a breaker in a main-panel thru a square wireway, can branch circuits wires be in the same square wireway as the wires feeding the sub-panel? Boomer
Check out 230-7. Feeders and branch circuits cannot occupy the same space as service conductors. So, there is no violation as long as there are no service conductors in the wireway you mentioned. Since you metioned that this is a sub-panel, I dont see a problem.
See page 101 of Mike Holt's "Understanding the NEC 1999" if you have it. It explains this sitation really well.

See 362-5 or 376.22 If you exceed 30 current carrying conductors, you'll have to derate to 40% up to 40 conductors, or 35% beyond that. Up to 30 conductors, derating is not applicable. I'm the big "Gutter Complainer" of the group Edited 'cause I used the wrong article.[foot in mouth] Thanks, Joe![/foot in mouth]
