What is the meaning of "structured wiring"?

Chris,

This typically refers to wiring for voice/data/CATV and networking. The unofficial standard seems to be 2 CAT5E, 2 RG6, and possibly fiber. This is all run in a home run pattern from each outlet to a centrally located distribution panel.
