I have just replaced my 3rd Murray MLO panel this summer. It's always the same, AL feeders, scorched lug(s)& burned stinky breakers stuck to black busses.
Of course where I'm at A/C is pretty much a continuous load all summer.

I know this can happen to any panel but it sure seems like these Murrays are the worst.

You get what you pay for. Low grade garbage IMO. Contact pads are ill fitting and smaller in size than most breakers of simular type. And busses are glossed (annealed) over to beautify the stiftened solder and recycled aluminum cans used to make them. Not a product of choice, but ecomomy.

Murray..... Same buss style as Cutler Hammer, ITE, Siemens, Westinghouse (novaline)?????

Had a few of each of those fail right where the breaker contacts the buss
(Aluminum)....
I have also noticed with some of them the breakers will sometimes plug onto the buss very snug, sometimes they seem very loose to where they want to fall right off the buss... I can't say I am a fan of that style.

What's to say the problem here isn't the aluminum conductors?
