Need to move a residential underground pool light and motor circuit. The copper or brass tubing is it? I'll have to retrench and splice to the old tubing. What kind of connectors can I use? Is the tubing available at the elec supply house, or a pool store.

There's brass pipe and there's copper tubing. With the price of copper and brass going up, can you run the conduit in PVC instead? As far as using copper for conduit, under fountain codes in section 680, copper is mentioned, but I don't recommend using it. I think that the only reason copper is mentioned in the fountain codes is because it is used as a nipple for an above-slab junction box for a freestanding underwater light or submersible pump. Codes are more lenient when describing nipples (less than 24" long) instead of full lengths of conduit. Only plumbing fittings can be used with copper tubing. I recommend running the niche light with PVC conduit, just make sure the light is bonded.
What do you mean by moving a motor circuit?

Aldav:
I'll assume that:
You probably have an 'old' pool, with brass pipe for the old wet niche light. You should be able to convert/extend the conduit to PVC (Female adaptor) to your deck box location.

Key is; what shape is the light cord in?? Can you locate the bond (if there' ever was one)?? Is there an existing deck box for the light??

Fountainguy,
The pool pump motor circuit. I have never seen pool lights run in PVC, only the copper/brass pipe.

hotline1,
There is th black juction box between the panel and the pool light. Thats what you call the deck box I guess. can this be changed to PVC?

Call Essco aldav. Should be one right off the US 60 right near you. They carry the brass pipe you are looking for.

There are only a few places in the U.S. that insist on brass conduit for pool lights. One place is New York City; also, NYC allows accesible plumbing unions on their brass conduits. I would check local electrical codes; you might be in a place that doesn't allow PVC conduit for pool lighting.

Youy can not convert to PVC if the wet niche is not appoved for PVC. The light niche has to have a lug inside to accept a #8 insulated GEC when using PVC.
