Any body get their free tool yet?
Just curious. It seems like it's been awhile. I wonder if I signed up for 2 tons of junk mail at a bogus site. I though I checked it out pretty thoroughly. Can't even remember what the choices were for tools.
-Hal
Still waiting here, as well.
There were 2 giveaways, one for a sawzall blade, one for an auger bit.
Yep. That's it. I remember the auger bit.
I got the blade a few weeks ago - it's still in the envelope
I guess the bit isn't comming.
I got a card in the mail from Bosch that if you came to their show, they were giving away free drill bits.
I think they need a little marketing help.
Dave
I got the same post card Dave got. Come to a tool show at some store get a bit and maybe win something.
I haven't got my Bosch auger bit either. Nor the recip. blade that Lenox promised to send. The only thing I have gotten is Irwin "blue" utility knife blades. They've sent a pack with all three requests.
Bosch had another offer for a free something. Only after I filled in the information did they say they were out of stock. Pretty crappy IMHO.
I asked for both, I got the blade not the bit.
I sent an e-mail to Bosch. It was firm but polite. I did receive a response from customer service. They have forwarded my letter on to there corporate offices. Will have to see if I get any response from them. Maybe we all need to send them an e-mail voicing our dissatisfaction with their promotion.
Al
Don't you guy's know that Bosch is made in PRC these days?.
You get what you pay for.
Oh wait, it's free!.
PRC = Peoples Republic of China.
Thanks for supporting the US companies folks.
I need to correct my previous post, I just got the Lenox "gold" utility knife blade in the mail today. Just one blade, cheap buggers. At least Irwin (same parent company) gives you a 5 pack of their "blue" blades.
Trumpy,
I try to "buy American" whenever I can. In some cases it's all but impossible. Are there any power tools made here anymore?
Mike
My apologies folks.
I was not trying to incite anti-Chinese hate or anything like that, I was merely stating a point.
Trumpy,
Your statement wasn't anti-anything. I don't know about you but I don't do a lot of work for Chinese nationals. The way I look at it is if I buy American products, I help keep Americans at work. Who, in turn, will be in a better position to hire me. For the same reason, I try to patronize local businesses.
Mike
I got the blade. Lasted one day, not very good.
Still waiting for the bit. It's been over 6 months.
All I get is email spam from Bosch.
Bosch will be one of my last choices for tools in the future.
I have not recieved anything. No Blade, No Bit , No postcards - Nothing,Zip , Ziltch
thats all I got !
I received my free bit today.
I received a free saw blade the other week.
I forgot all about these things.
Still waiting here in Jersey, Damn give away was a joke. Thats a great way to build a rep for the company!
Remember. It's the thought that counts. They WANTED to send me a drill bit. And for that, I'm deeply touched.
I received the ship auger bit today. Very high quality bit. I'm quite impressed.
Mine showed up today. Looks pretty good for Chinese manufacture. Will give it a go on my next residential job...
I still haven't gotten mine. Heck, I'd forgotten all about it till just now!

Last time I checked Bosch was a German company?
HHHHmmmmmmmm?
Just where is Bosch made these days? The following statement is from a Bosch on-line review.
"This drill was clearly advertised online as having been manufactured in Switzerland.
When received, the drill was clearly marked "Made in China.""
Speaking of Bosch...
My hammerdrill decided to amuse me by losing high gear in the transmission today while drilling ½" holes for concrete anchors.
Middle of nowhere western Kern County, and about 60 miles from the nearest orange square store... Took 2 hours for 8 holes
PS.. it says "Made in Switzerland"
Came home from a trip yesterday and found my bit in the mail
Yeh for Bosh.. Steve
On the bottom of the bit it says " Made in China, Maximum 600 rpm. Hope it don't melt over that. I've got a 900 rpm Milwaukie drill

I had completely forgotten about my bit until yesterday there was a strange envelope in my mail box. It seems like a pretty decent bit.
Just got mine today. Made in China.
I just recieved my auger bit today. I think i sent in for it way back in April?
Kelley
Just got my drill bit a few moments ago......
Reguardless of where it was made it seems to be well machined. There is something I noticed straight off that was different about this bit as comared to others. The cutting edge is wider than the rest of the bit, and more pronounced on the leading edge. The result is a 7/8 bit that cuts at 1"? And due to the way it is cut, it would seem that it could be sharpened with a flat file more easily than a bit that would need to be sharpened from inside the flute. Theroretocialy, you could sharpen it down to a 7/8" bit over time. Now the question is how long will that take?
Someone from Bosch must post here becuase I got mine today. I agree it looks like a well made bit. Cant wait to chew up some lumber with it!
Got mine. Looks ok, wonder how it works when it hits nails
I got my bit also. It does look good.
Al
Mine arrived in the mail today.
I got the bit today also.
Thanks Bosch.
Dave

I had given up, especially after reading that all of you got yours. I got mine today!
I used my Bosch 1 inch auger bit today - WOW - it's like a 12 gauge slug thru a TGI - works very well and is really sharp - only thing I don't like is that it's got "CHINA" stamped into it - but can't complain about something free
When this thread started I was glad I didn't waste my time signing up. Now I'm kind of feeling like odd-man-out.
got mine yesterday, cant wait till im done rewireing our pressbrake in the shop so i can go back to the bosses house and finish installing afew more recepticals and try out the new bit, i wonder how it compares to my irwin...
Jps1006, it seems yours is on a slow boat.
Mine showed up yesterday.
/mike
Mine came in todays mail, forgot I even signed up.
Webmaster, can you please delete this post?
Duplicate post.

Mine FINALLY came today. It looks like a decent drill...now to drill some holes and see if it works as good as it looks.
Just got mine today. Will have to hide it so it stays sharp. It is nice and sharp now and I will try to keep it that way. Rod
I just received the blades and the auger bit.Forgot how many months ago the sign up was.
Mine arrived! Hurray!
What are the odds that, the first time I use it, I hit a nice, big, nail?
Well since I started this thread, I might as well finish it.
THE BIT ARRIVED.
Mine arrived today too! Beefy little devil, gonna have fun borin' some wood...
Mine arrived too. Looks nice. Still not diggin the China on the side, but as said previously free is free.
My step-dad received his too. He thought it was some scam to get him to buy more. Seems I forgot to tell him I signed him up for it when I did.
I received my bit yesterday and my friend gave me his that he received a week ago.
Thank you Bosch for the free bit. I was at OSH today and checked to see what brand bits they carried(more on this later). They carried Bosch and the 1" bit(made in China) was priced at $15 and change.
Now the reason I was looking for bits was to compare quality. I have both the ship auger and the spur auger bits. The finish quality of them is not good. They might function ok, but they are full of burrs and the cutting edges are somewhat dull and nicked. The ones in the store appeared to be finished a little better than the freebees.
Again, thank you Bosch for the freebee.
steve(not looking a gift horse in the mouth)
Got mine @ the PO box today as well.
Was wondering "WTH is that?" when I openeed it up.
[quote}Was wondering "WTH is that?" when I opened it up.[/quote]
Yeah mine came in a way oversized cardboard type mailer and I thought it was a little overkill too.
Mine came finally.... Looks good - now to try it out.
Came in a manilla envelope - had hoped for a plastic tube - keeps 'em sharp.

Darn, just missed it I guess.
