Can anyone tell me what a GOAB switch is and what it does. I ride by one all the time but cant see what it does. It looks like a way to switch between 2 sources, but I dont know. Thanks, Gary

mbhydro,

That was a neat little site. I often look at stuff on utility poles and in substations and wonder what it is or what it does.

It brings up something I've always wondered, does anyone know of a photo glossary that tells what all these different pieces of gear are?

John is sort of what your thinking of? Its the index page for the above link.

From what I saw it has all sorts of pictures and explanations of different electrical gear.

I just sort of came across it by chance in Google doing a search on Gang Operated Air Break today to see what one was as I could not picture what it was myself.
