This may be a supid question but, I installed 2 Halo 4" recessed in this kitchen (resi) about once a month the bulb blows out. The bulb is right for the fixture all the wiring is right. I'm lost. Any suggestions?

whats above the lights? attic? kids room? if there is a room above, could be the movement of the floor jarring the hot lamp and blowing the filament.

where are you buying the lamps from? HD/Lowes? All bought at the same time? could be a bad batch of lamps.

"The bulb is right for the fixture all the wiring is right" But is it tight? A loose connection anywhere in the circuit could cause some trouble... Including the contacts in the can to the lamp. In LV cans it is common that the socket can heat up making it progressively worse over time. A resistive or arching connection would artificialy raise the amperage and drop voltage to the lamp. (or viseversa)

And yeah, bad bulbs.... (cheap means expendable)

but wouldn't lower voltage to the lamp extend it's life?

No room above. Bought lamps at supply store, it is on a switch with two orther light they
have had no problems. The light is a regular
