What are electricians using for fire alarms when pulling wires into slabs on grade or underground.Regular FAS cables are not approved for wet locatons. i have asked this question, and no one as been able to give me a definitive answer?

You can try asking a cable manufaturer. Here's a link to Belden's contact page. These guys also have a "cable college" on their site that's kind of interesting.

You can run THWN conductors in PVC conduit. Be sure to identify the transition boxes somehow as FA.
We used to paint them red.

Belden does make listed cable for such use. You'll have to dig around for it. It features a gel coating underneath the sheath and over the conductors.

However, I suspect you will find #14 THWN stranded much cheaper.

Your options are limited by the system spec's.
