I do mostly commercial wiring so I'm a little rusty with the residential side of things -
I just picked up a kitchen remodel and they are installing a cooktop and a separate wall oven. cook top is 7.4 kw @ 240volt, they are still picking out the wall oven.
How do you house guys wire these? A seperate circuit for each or do you tap a feed to both ? I've never dealt with these all I've dealt with in the past was the standard 30" free standing range. Any advice is welcome. Thanks

The 7.4 kw needs at least some #8 so I would want to know the size of the other oven.It might be better to have one line for each, rather then running a large line and tapping off it.

Usually I feed each appliance individually with whatever the nameplate draw is.

Run each circuit seperate, but don't do it until you have cut-sheets in hand. (Not spec's, "Cut Sheets") Resi Kit equipment is notoriuos for requiring feeds in certain locations. (Like sub-zero's 6x6" square to locate power.) Otherwise you may be in for some surprises at finish. Just my opinion.....

Thanks - thats about what I had in mind. 2 feeds - 1 for each. The homeowner is going to have them on hand by the time I start the rough in.
