Anyone heard of this listing? I took a breaker out today that read "UL listed for HACR." Stands for heating, airconditioning, refrigeration. My question is, is it any more worthy of this purpose than a breaker not listed as such? I've never gone to the parts-house and requested an HACR-listed breaker. Anyone else?
TRIPP
This is an old listing according to my Residential Wiring book.
On the book it states " In the past circuit breakers were subjected to specific tests unique to HVAC equipments and were marked with the letters HACR. Today, no additional tests are made. All currently listed circuit breakers are suitable for HVAC equipment...... Because of existing inventories, it will take many years for the marking HACR to disapear from the scene"

This is very important to know - especially when working in old panels like Cutler-Hammer or whatever.
Wow, great info, "jtorres." Thanks!
