I'm bidding the first big NM job we've looked at in a along time.

How much labor do you allow per romex drop such as receptacles, switches, fixtures, etc.?

hey golf, I usually figure around 1/2 hour per opening.

m at $37.00 per drop (switches and receptacles, $95.00 per 15 and 20 amp H.R., $90.00 per 6'' hihat on all new work applications). However I would consider lowering those $$ for cookie cutter projects and high volume. Im on Long Island N.Y. however..

I usually figure about 40 to 45 minutes, this picks up a lot of the non-productive time such as loading, unloading, clean up, etc.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I was considering going with 1/2 hr. but I know we will have to push hard through the entire project to be profitable at that price.

40-45 minutes would be more comfortable and profitable except that we would probably not win the job at that price.

The local market has been very competitive this year. Bidding practices that have worked well in the past are not getting us any work this year.

Most of our commercial jobs in the past have been emt. With that type of job we try to get close to 1 hour per drop.

thanks again,
GJ
