I installed a older 2-pole 15 amp circuit breaker made by General Switch Company(blue handle)into a 200amp Seimens Panelboard for an air handler and fluncked inspection today...

I was under the assumption that General Switch circuit breakers were listed for use in other manufacturers panels?

The Inspector said the "numbers don't match"...

How can I find the listing for General Switch breakers?

As with most failed inspections, it's usually easier to satisy the inspector. I'd change the breaker.

If the breaker is "classified" for use in the Seimens panel, the breaker will have a listing of the panels that it can be used in. The UL listing information for classified breakers requires that classified breakers be provided with this listing. Just because it fits, does not mean that you are permitted to use it.

UL: Listed HACR type, issue LL 7902...

I have to agree with Don on all counts.
Also, with what Dave55 said; as an EC, sometimes that's the quickest & most economical solution. The amount of time and effort you may have to expend vs a quick replacement cb??

As an AHJ, yes, Don is 100% correct. Show me the documentation & 'no problem'.

ShortC as Don pointed out the info is required to be with the breaker.

T&B lists all the panels right on the side of the breaker.

If General Switch did not lable the breaker they would have had to send the info in the packaging.

The supply house that you bought the breaker at should supply the paper work or take the breaker back.
