... You guys are gonna think I'm daft, but I remember reading in one of my trade mags,an article/advertisement featuring a device that allows you to see inside the wall, thru a small hole.Similar in design to a physicians endoscope,it has an eye-piece,and a long hose-like appendage with a light.. am I nuts??,or did anyone see the same kind of thing..I'm interested in purchasing one,..if it's not thousands of dollars.. Thanx!!

There is certainly no "hardware" reason these don't exist.
I haven't seen one aimed at trades but the cops have had spike cameras for years.
The CCD camera itself can be about the size of a 12 penny nail. Stuff a white LED light in there and you have exactly what you are looking for. You could see the pictures on a palm pilot or picture phone. I would be surprised if someone wasn't selling them.

You could conceivably build one yourself from a discard cell phone with camera...or even lower tech webcam.... [Linked Image]

Contact a medical suppy vendor or a Proctologist and ask about old scopes used for colonoscopies.

What is the price for one of these ProVision scopes? Anyone know?

Low-Tech version
I've got a dentist's mirror, about 3/4" in diameter, that works great, but wouldn't be so hot for the side jobs George mentioned.

Most likely, but not because of the other question [Linked Image]

I have one of the ProVision 300 scope.
Works awesome.
It's just a fiberoptic cable with a light at the end.
You have to bend it before you try to see what you want. Takes some practice and getting used to, but I think it's worth it.

I used mine today on a new machine that we were wiring. So we wouldn't drill into hoses or wiring that was run within the frame.
