I know things may get a little lively, spirited, and even heated at times, but I think to truly appreciate how civilized we are here, the thread below is must read as far as being HOT and that means spirited as well as spicy. [Linked Image] [Linked Image] [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

The price was only around $60.00 when it was given to me, and I wouldn't pay the going price now. [Linked Image]

OK, follow the links I did. I also like hot sauce, mexican food, chili, etc.

A few years ago, my wife picked up some type of HOT peppers at the store. If you touched this little sucker, and then touched your lips, MAN that was HOTT. Seemed like it took days to get the oils off of your fingertips no matter how you washed your hands.

Now.......$900 for a bottle of hot sauce?? NO, it's not a sauce! $60 price range, still out of site, or am I missing something???

I was looking at a bottle of hot sauce a few year back in a convience store that had a deli in the back. The bottle had a skull and cross bones on it. With a warning label saying it would remove rust and oil stains from the driveway. That must a have some sause.

Texassparky, welcome to the forum.

Did the bottle look something like this?

Roger, will me have more in common. WE both are Rednecks, and both like firey red hot food. I grow tons of peppers if you would like some this summer or fall.

Have you tried Dave's Insanity Sauce?

With a name like that, it's either extremely hot, or it's some sort of a high alcohol content. [Linked Image]

Mike, Dave's Insanity Sauces are some of the hottest.

Here is a list (some may be contested) of some of the top sauces.
http://www.tastethepain.com/cgi-local/webcart.cgi?CHANGE=YES&NEXTPAGE=topten.htm&CODE=117

For a comparison for those who are familiar with TABASCO® sauce, the original is about 2100 Scoville units as compared to Dave's Insanity which comes in at 51,000.

Dereck, we must be brothers, if I can get in a round of 68 on the links it will be confirmed. [Linked Image] (Dereck plays a tough round of golf)

We also grow peppers, maybe we can we can swap some this season.

I do have Dave's Insanity (as well of a few more of the Insanity group) in the collection but have not opened any yet, waiting to finish a bottle of Blair's Sudden Death.

I only open one mega hot bottle at a time, the wife gets mad when I have a whole tray full of open bottles in the fridge. [Linked Image]

I've grown lotsa "wimpy" habañeros.
Believe it or not, pulling out a dead plant without gloves will actually cause you to "taste" the pepper without touching your mouth.

A tip for cooking with them:
If you want to flavor a dish without causing somebody an emergency room visit [Linked Image] , Put them in a small tea strainer (the type you lower into a cup, shaped like an egg or ball) and lower it into the dish while it cooks. The "hardcores" that eat them like an apple can do as we please [Linked Image]

Mike, I actually have that one in the collection too. [Linked Image]

There are quite a few hot sauces coming from your neck of the woods too.

When I was in the Navy we bet a guy he couldn't eat to teaspoons of daves insanity two minutes apart with no water. He did it, but he was about half mexican and I saw him about five minutes later as white as a sheet and not feeling too good. If you have had daves you can understand what that would be like LOL.

I would never have guessed that New Zealand could make anything like that.
Australia yes, but....
