Anyone know if you must have a license for wiring residential housing with low-no voltage wiring in the state of Tennessee? Wiring including: intercom, surround sound(audio),network (cat5e), phone, cable tv, security? If so, any links to information would be great.Thanks!

I'm not sure about Tenn., but there should be everywhere. Most places dont have one, but should....

The states website is terrible, but I did get in touch with them and any wiring at all, no matter what it is, you must pass the LLE test and get the license. Does that sound right? Thats what the lady on the other end of the phone said anyways?

NJ, just got a new law that lic. low voltage people. It limits them to fire/burg alarm installations

In Connecticut you need to carry an L6 or L5 license.. You can contact the NBFAA (National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association) for info regarding Tenn requirements.. There may be different licenses required for different aspects of low voltage installations. In CT here there are different ones for burg and fire, communications, telephone, etc..
