Just curious to see how many weeks holidays do you get in different areas.
the firm I work with in Toronto is two weeks and then 3 weeks after 3 yrs.Not nearly enough!But then what is.

Vacation?? whats that I take 1 week and then try to work some days in here and there when it isn't busy. Self employment kills vacations
I'm heading to the outer banks of NC in a couple of weeks though.

Working out of MA.

3 weeks paid vacation after 5 years

2 paid personal days and as many non-paid as you want (or want to afford )

9 to 11 paid holidays, depends on which day of the week Xmas and New Years fall on.

1 year - 1 week

At every 5th year, a bonus 3 weeks + the 1 week..

New Years, Presidents Day, July 4th, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving & Xmas or Hannukah are paid

No personal days paid here though...

I work for the government and I get 5 weeks of annual (after 15 years of service), 12 sick days, and 10 paid holidays. The only downside is that you have to account for 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, period. If you want to take an extra 15 minutes for lunch or leave a few minutes early, you have to fill out a form and take annual leave. The nice thing is you can take leave in any increment from 1 minute to 3 weeks without any problem and longer if you arrange it well in advance.

The company I work for pays us our holiday pay each pay period. The rates are regulated. For the life of me I can't remember what they are. approx.9%? We work 40 hrs Mon. thru Fri. and 4 hrs on Sat. Any hours above these noted hours are put into a bank. The company is required to pay us out after a certain time period or give us time off with pay, drawing hours from the bank. All of us take the time off. I just took a week off. Went to Waterton/Glacier Natioal Park.AWESOME!!!!!! It's actually the first holiday I've had in a very long long time. Except for Christmas time. We shut down for Christmas thru New Years Day. The only problem with holidays is the fires you need to put out when you get back to work.

Nags Head, my wifes sister owns a place there. I've never been but they tell me its nice . I really can't wait to go to the Wright Bros Museum and swim in warm ocean water. The ocean water in Maine is 61 right now
