I want to get an electrical license but I have a felony. I read the board can deny a license because of this. Is it likely that they will or do they just reserve the right to do so?

I know in Maine they ask that question on the application but not sure if answered yes its an automatic disqualification. I'd think it would depened on how long ago, have you been onthe straight and narrow since and the reccomendations you get. I doubt they can deny you based solely on a felony.

I don't know the answer to your question, but you might find it here: http://www.sos.state.ga.us/plb/default.htm

I think it probably will depend on the circumstances. The only real way to find out is to fill out the application (you can print it from the link above). Be completely honest, it's better you tell them ahead of time than for them to find out during the review process. Good Luck.

It is a state issue. I have known several electricians who are ex-cons, so it is not out of the question.
