As I can post now, I thought I would first say, Hello to all across the pond.

Looking through this site over the last couple of days I am truly amazed at "standards" that some of you come across in electrical installations in the US/Mexico.

Welcome to the forum!!! It is always cool to talk with someone who is literally a world away.

Hi FWL, and welcome to another fellow Brit.

One thing you'll notice looking through the various photos on ECN is that although the fittings and devices may be different, people seem to be able to bodge up a job in the same way whichever side of the Atlantic they're on!

By the way, I see you're in Barnet. Are the no. 34 buses still as bad as they were when I used them regularly years ago? [Linked Image]

Well they run...haven't seen any stop mind!!

I have almost had a visit from one..they tear along The Great North Road like it's Brands Hatch..I have to be really careful pulling out of the driveway.

Since deregulation Driver standards have gone south. I have lived here for 14 months now, and there have been 7 accidents in that time within 200 yards of the cottage, 4 fatal, 2 multiple fatalities, 3 involved buses!!

Every time I go back anywhere near London it seems to be more hectic than the last time. I'm going back a fair way on the buses -- Must have been about 1979 the last time I used the no. 34!
