We have been experiencing many layoffs in our state (Washington-Seattle). When I ask people about an electrical company that's hiring, and has good benefits and pay for apprentice, and Journeyman. I always get negative feed back. Example of feed back: The last company I worked for started me off at $16 per hour as a journeyman, and did not pay for benefits. Can anyone recommend a good company (non-union). That pays apprentice (with 1500-2500 hours),or journeyman (2 year card)well. I've seen $10 per/hr for appren with 1500 hours (too low), and journeyman (residential) at a pay of only $16.

We have a Classifieds area that you can post inquiries/resumes at also. Maybe you'll have some luck there.

Just a suggestion, a two year journeyman get 19.50 here in our local and a full journeyman makes $20.78 per hour with benefits and hospitolization, you know I dont know how you feel about unions, but they pay better than most non-union contractors, not all of course but only a suggestion.

Sparky, what are you implying here? Are you saying union electrician's don't work all the time? It's like anywhere else. If your good you will work if your not you won't. I have been in the IBEW for 12 years and have spent 1 whole month of that out of work. (Back in the early 90's).
I looked up the scale in Seattle just to make a comparison. Journeyman scale is $31.50 with an additional $3.90 to pension and $1.50 annuity plus medical. A far cry from the $10.00 FocaSE is facing. [Linked Image]

I should have clarified the $20.78 is for residential wireman.

are you willing to travel? relocate? if not you have take what you can get. if a lot of layoffs occur in the area you're at either not that good of pay or ride the union bench.
if you can travel then you have a chance of better pay make sure you have all your paperwork in order GOOD LUCK
