I was just curious about how many of you use either Fluke or an AmpProbe.
Or what may be your preferences.

I personally like using Amprobe meters, when I first started in the trade, I bought a small Amprobe clamp on meter, I have been using them since then.

Dyed-in-the-wool Fluke user—No Sub—since 1979 or '80 starting with an 8020A. Their products' no-damage overrange protection has gone beyond the call of duty more than I like to admit.

A current probe separate from the meter to see the reading without being in a compromising position is nice. Also, for use on power circuits, a third-party-proven IEC1010 600V Category IV rating is a must.

[I used to keep a captive 8060A with glued-on magnets stuck to the inside of a 12kV switchgear lineup with its 20.000kVA transformer. An 87 left in a station switchhouse did not ‘sprout legs’ with the building number carved into the display window.]

I picked up an unusual clamp-on recently made by AutoMeter. Seems to be a good all-around multimeter with digital dispay, peak hold and a few other things. The unique feature is the clamp can be used for measuring both AC and DC current. As you might guess, it is real handy working on motorhomes where you find lots of both.
