About grounding wires in Smoke Detector boxes. It was said, that we must attach a crimping sleeve, and no longer use just wire nuts?

Foca Se,

I think you are referring to my statement regarding 250-148 which states:

Quote
...the arrangement of grounding connections shall be such that the disconnection or the removal of a receptacle, fixture, or other device fed from the box will not interfere with or interrupt the grounding continuity...

But it's entirely my opinion (and the opinion of my mentor and some peers) and very arguable whether or not wirenuts comply with this.

Don't mean to give you a heart attack! I just like to point out some odd things about code, and how things can be interpreted differently...

I was shocked the first time I saw greenies, but then again, I was also brain-washed against plastic boxes, which I now use...

Since most Smoke Detectors I've seen don't use an EGC (plastic) then the removal of the detector won't interfere!

BTW, I like T&B PT-70M's, the small size compared to a greenie is a big advantage, and I'm just used to using them....
