OK, it's time to order a new pair of work boots. My last two were red wings and wolverine durashocks. Both were good boots, lasted about two years with daily wear, and cost about $150.

What's your favorite workboot?

Is the electrical rating on shoes worth any extra consideration? I've been buying boots with an electrical rating. No extra cost, but it does limit the models available.

Anyone have any good experiences with online shopping for boots?

I like the Redwings. An old guy who repaired my workboots for years told me to buy 2 pair at a time and alternate between them every 3 days. He said if I normally got a year out of a pair of boots I would get 3+ years out of 2 pair alternating them this way. He was right. He said it lets the leather recover and dry out rather than be daily attacked by the acids in perspiration that are most damaging when moist. I buy 2 pair of Redwings about every 4-5 years.

Red Wings here. The lace up type. I have to have that ankle support. [Linked Image]
