Anyone know of cheap liability insurance for electrical contractors? I'm interested in about $1 Million in coverage for a crew of one. I'm hoping to find an underwriter that's more specialized and cheaper than the one I have currently. Any suggestions?

Sparky,

If there are any Local Contractor's Associations, I would recommend trying the one that they use/endorse. I imagine that We will inevitably have some Insurance Links here, but none to recommend as yet.

Happy New Year!

I am a contract electrical inspector. I carry one million general liability, with an aggregate of two million.
Contact an independant agent, and ask them if they can write for the Zurich Group-Seattle.
My insurance is a speciality contractors policy, with an annual cost of $305.00. Less than a dollar a day, what a deal!

Now look what you guys made me do. I opened my insurance folder and checked my coverage and now I have to go to my independent agent and ask why I pay $360 a year for $600K coverage. First this groupe makes me dig all through the Code and now this. What next? [Linked Image]

Dave
I expect the extra cost of your coverage is involved with the possibility of some day having to air-drop and insurance adjuster into Machias. Jusy kidding Dave. I'm from Northern NH - have been to Machias - and it's beautiful country.
