Type of cable - ECN Electrical Forums

I am running power and a ceiling fan to a gazboo built on the side of a deck. Looking in the code book I see I could use NMC to run in a damp location, running under the joist of the deck. However, I can not find out anything about NMC. My supplier can not find it listed in he southwire book. Does anyone have any info on NMC and where I might find it. I don't want to run pvc all the way, but if I must I will.

Why not UF cable?

Yeah, UF would seem the way to go if you don't want to use PVC.

Is the ceiling fan rated for damp locations?

Southwire Type UF-B cable is generally used as feeder to outside post lamps, pumps, and other loads or apparatus fed from a distribution point in an existing building as specified in the National Electrical Code1. UF-B cable may be used underground, including direct burial. Multiple conductor UF-B cable may be used for interior branch circuit wiring in residential or agricultural buildings at conductor temperatures not to exceed 90°C (with ampacity limited to that for 60°C conductors) as specified by the National Electrical Code.
