I am installing a GFCI in a circa 1965 kitchen and have run into a problem. The load wires were easy to identify and connect, however the neutral line wire is perplexing. there are two neutral wires pigtailed together, one is 240v and the other120v. The 120v is the one I need, but what do I do with the 240v neutral? Cap it? I don't see a hot 240v anywhere.

Any ideas?

Bill,

With all due respect, the phrasing of your question leads me to suggest that you contact a licensed electrician that can come to the kitchen. It is important to remember this yellow highlighted caveat at the top of this link.

If I am misunderstanding your question, I apologize.
