When I touch one of my leds-from my meter reader-to the ground (bare), and one to the Neutral (white--residential). I'm getting a 120V reading. Does this mean I have a Hot Nue reverse on one of my recepticles? Any helpful hints on safe ways of using my meter reader is welcomed!

With respect to “phantom voltage” see: https://www.electrical-contractor.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002313.html https://www.electrical-contractor.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000217.html https://www.electrical-contractor.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001740.html

Does an appliance plugged into the receptacle work? If not, then it could be an open neutral and you are reading the hot-to-ground voltage via other appliances.

If an appliance connected to the outlet works, then it may well be reversed connections. Have you tried measuring from the hot terminal to ground?
