Service call friday was old rusted out ITE meter stack with 3 meters and owner mains.
The problem was, when I recommended replacing the meter set, the owner said he thinks the condo board should pay for it.
Has anyone run into this problem before.

oh yes, the old 'who's on first, what's on second' bit....i simply pose a price, ask whom i'd be working for, and let them duke it out.

sparky that is it, who owns what in a townhouse. Owner has no idea. There are 3 units on the pack. Unit 1 will pay for his part but unit 2 and 3 said they have no problems with electric service so why should they pay. Owner 1 understands and wants to do the safe thing. I will call the inspection office Monday morning and they may be able to help owner 1 .

How many units are in this development? If its only three I can see why its unclear but the owners should be able to read the documents they signed when they purchased the condo that spells out who is responsible for what. If this is a larger development the homeowners association should be able to settle this. Typically individual owners are responsible for anything inside their home but anything common or on the exterior is the responsibility of the homeowners association. If this development only has 3 units then each owner will be responsible for 1/3 of the cost. I don't thing the electrical inspector is going to be of much help since this is a legal matter.
