As we go out this extended weekend have fun, be safe (I know, it's an oxymoron) and don't forget to take a moment to remember what Memorial Day is all about.
Please take a moment to remember that tens of thousands Americans over the course of our short history not only answered the call to defend, but also paid the ultimate price defending our homes and our ways of life. They paid for our freedom. Freedom is not free. They deserve a moment of your time. They earned it. We can never forget them for what they done or they would just died in vein.
Let's not forget that they all left love ones behind too. Not only did our Gold Star families suffer too while their love ones were off serving, they do not have their love ones coming home to share their weekends with. They just have a grave, a flag over the mantle, and the empty hole in their soul where our patriots once filled.
Enjoy the bounties of our lives that we have made this weekend, Let us not forget, never ever forget the ones who afforded us the liberties that we enjoy. We owe them that and so much more
