I was watching the TLC Christmas Lights show and i heard that you replace a fuse with a nail and 120v is only a tingle.
see what the third guy is saying about fuses and 120 volt.

I think TLC needs to edit before they show programs on T.V. to the homeowner if it is on T.V. and then it must be safe.

WOW! Were to start? Talk about some poor installs!

I did look at veido and I don't know how many voliations I did see it but I know it is more than 10 I can count seems that is a major issue with DIY's and homeowner if they know that kind of stuff they should learn something from legit electricians do it right from start.

What I did see.,

• wrong bubble cover
• improper use the power strip
• stuff blocking the electrical panels

There are few more along the way and one guy did mention about the fuse in the plug that is incryobale stupid !!

I will list what I see:
Panel blocked, not required clearance.
Exposed romex stapled to face of stud subject to damage.
Bell boxes buried.
Bell boxes with improper support.
No in-use covers.
No GFCI protection.
I would not want to be the electrical contractor on that program taking credit for that hack job. The nice thing about that video is when his house burns down, the insurance co can use it ( nail fuse)

One practice I saw that concerns me is the placing of Bell boxes in direct contact with, even partially buried by, the earth. When this happens, it has been my observation that not only do they rapidly fill with mud and plant roots, they also completely corrode away within a few years.

The biggest problem is using a galvanized nail. He should be using a copper nail.

If they're using multiple strings of those miniature Christmas lights...they should be using the Copper nails as miniature ground rods at each.
